TRANSLATIONS
A COMMUNITY OF SOUND
COMPOSERS
DISCOGRAPHY
"Translations" is a community centered around sound, built around the organ and violin works of Una Sveinbjarnardóttir and Arngerður María Árnadóttir. They have a lot in common, as both have extensive experience in the music world as performers, have worked significantly with improvisation, and in recent years have increasingly engaged in composition alongside other projects.
The duo's first album was recorded in the summer of 2024. The works are largely improvised, with the pipe organ and violin taking center stage, and special guests on the album include Skúli Sverrisson and Davíð Þór Jónsson. The album, titled "Hik," will be released by the record label Sono Luminus on June 25, 2025. “Smelling the Shampoo” is the title of the next album, which will be recorded by the Sono Luminus team in the first half of 2025.
